My top 5 Marketing Tips
My top 5 Marketing Tips

Hey friends! I wanted to share what I consider my top marketing tips for an online business. While I am far from reaching my growth goals, I have worked hard to build up my following and my branding for being in business for just shy of two years. Starting with tip #1...

1. Reuse content!

I have totally been guilty of spending hours creating videos and taking pictures, all to hit "post" and never come back to it. Here recently, I have learned the power of reusing. You can reuse your content on other platforms or when creating new posts or sharing about a product.

Have you ever heard the saying it takes someone SEVEN times for a person to see or hear something before they consider taking action? It's true! Maybe they saw your post the first time and it caught their eye. Maybe the second time, they clicked on your page. Maybe by the 4th or 5th time, they are on your website adding items to their cart. Sometimes, it takes reusing content, utilizing new captions and other photos within your post, to get the ball rollin'.

2. Precise photos!

Ahhh, my favorite part. I take 95% of my product pictures completely by myself using my iPhone and props. I always make sure to remain consistent in the lighting, themes, background, props, and filters of my pictures. Utilizing a consistent filter is SO important, as everything looks put together and professional. I aim for a clean look, without too much clutter, and utilize certain color props that go along with my branding and the colors of my business. For example, neutral tones and greenery! I highly recommend looking into a tripod, and I would use natural light every day over a studio lightbox.

3. Catchy keywords.

Even if you have the perfect picture, you need a perfect caption. Or, pretty close to perfect. Look up caption ideas on Pinterest or Google if you need to, and get the ideas flowing. Put yourself into a buyer's shoes. What can they relate to? What does this product do for them? What's the story behind it? It's all in the details!

4. Reach out!

Sometimes an online presence is just not enough, especially when you are fairly new. (It can take a small business FIVE YEARS before really gaining traction under their feet). Don't, be afraid to bring up who you are and what you do in everyday conversation. Always have business cards on hand or a link you can send by text or email. Be your own biggest fan, and sometimes, friends and family will follow along and promote you too!

Another thing I like to do is offer a display card of my products or services and it contains a QR code to my website. I always have this card on hand to give out during my vendor events or during conversations with someone.

5. Consistency and patience.

Results don't happen overnight, although sometimes we are lucky with a viral TikTok video (lol). For the most part, however, marketing and growth will take time. It will require you to show up every single day. It takes true dedication and passion to promote yourself and your business. Create a schedule, write down your ideas and intentions, and stay consistent. Over time, you will start to see results. I personally love writing a weekly to-do list and a daily to-do list to keep myself on track.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you found something within this blog post helpful or useful!
